Dinner was a bowl of Nyonya vegetable curry since sadly, the Japanese shop wasn’t open. I need to get back on track of a proper eating regime, no more breakfast of a vegetable bao and Oreos at four in the morning. Good part about staying in a catered residential hall is that meals are always a ‘surprise’ similar to back home when you have no idea what’s for dinner until you show up at the kitchen or dining room.
Home:
What’s for dinner?
Stir fried pork.
Ha… pork… eee…
Eat it. It’s good for you.
Okay… *piles on vegetables stir fried with bits of meat or prawns or garlic*
Hall:
What’s for dinner?
Beef.
Ha… beef…again? Can I have the vegetarian option?
But I would die of starvation if I lived on vegetables alone and they wouldn’t taste good either.
Chicken curry noodles in a bowl the size of half a football.
