I was a toddler 16 years ago and now I stand as a teenager with only one year and a couple more months left before I graduate from secondary school. Life is really short to come to think of it although it seems long at times. I could leave something and say that I still have tomorrow to finish it off but as tomorrow comes, I realize that so-call tomorrow-to-finish-it-off will be over in a couple of hours and a new tomorrow begins.
Somehow, the thought of leaving school in just less than two years time makes me realize how much time I have thrown to waste and what I had achieved so far. It also made me realize that all of us will be going different ways after graduating from secondary school. I was wondering, where would I stand after graduating from secondary school. Would I be in Form 6 or will I have the opportunity to receive a scholarship to persue what I dream to be? Will I be studying overseas or in a local university? There are just so many questions I have to ask but I know I will not get the answers until the time is right.
All those people whom had walked with me throughout my life had left their footprints. Some so sweet and yet some were bitter. Some whom I had known for years but it had never crossed my mind that those years were actually so long because when I think about it now, it all feels so short. It's funny how some people can leave memorable imprints in you, when you think of them, they make you happy or sad. If you think you could live alone, you probably cant. Everybody needs a somebody in their life whether you like it or not.
It's all so short! I don't know if I am prepared for what I am going to face next. Right now, I'm the one determining what my life is going to be like after I graduate from secondary school. If I do well in my studies, I'm setting myself a bright future and also one step closer to my goals. There are just too many questions, how many more years to I have before I'm called home to God's kingdom? Would I be called back at a ripe age or would I be called back before that? Would he and I last from the day we began until the end? All these make me realize how short life just is no matter you live up to 90 years or 30 years or so forth.
There are just so many wonderful gifts to cherish in life. Your loved ones, yourself and all the things you had accomplished and will accomplish. I don't understand those who tell me, "life sucks" for life is great no matter there are ups or downs, life can just be summarized as great and short. So cherish it.

Weeding??? Toilet cleaning???
I have several things to comment on about that really irritates me. Our school's administration had recently established this new punishment that late comers shall be subjected to weeding the pavillion area and cleaning the school toilets. Hence, they spend at least one to two periods out of class weeding and scrubbing school toilets. Is this supposed to help the students in any way? They would be even more thrilled to stay out of class and hence, wouldn't their results drop in opposite to what Mdm Mary John, the principal of SMK. St. Teresa wants?? The students have been told to weed and how many weeks have this weeding ceremony been going on already and are most of the weeds gone or most of the leaves on those decorative plants gone, I ask you? If you have the eyes to see, oh gosh, wake up! The leaves are gone instead and the weeds remain. See how riddiculous this new punishment is?? Have you got eyes to see that students actually enjoy weeding, chit chatting and laughing while weeding??? You still got students coming late right, it shows that they don't bother about the absurd punishment! So abolish it!!!
Sometimes the student is late because of their parents fault. If I may press on again, I would like to clarify my oppinion that it's mainly the fault of their parents. As a parent, you ought to make sure and take an extra step to ensure that your daughter reaches the school by 7.00am. You ought to be the one who wakes up before your daughter does and wake up on time! Be punctual and get your daughter to the school get by 7.00! Therefore, instead of punishing the students, there ought to be this thing whereby one day all the parents of the latecomers group together to do weeding instead as a punishment for sending their daughters late to school. Gosh, SMK. St. Teresa, abolish the weeding and toilet cleaning rule for goodness sake! The prefects in charge have to stay out one period just to make sure the students actually weed and this only wastes their time when they are not even late! It's like they are being punished as well!
For all I've got to say, it seems like my school's administration is going down the drain with implications of many ridiculous new rules.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day!!! The history of this social-frenzy day starts of with this man named Valentine who was about to be sentenced to death and of course, he was in a prison. So before, he died, he declared his love to the girl of his dreams and declared that day as Valentine's Day. That's just a so-call brief history of the Valentine's Day that I got from Rhe. How true it goes, I have no idea. I don't intend on researching on the history of Valentine's Day. So why can't I just decide to declare one day as Gabrielle's Day just because I declare my love to the guy I fancy before I reach 50 years old or something. If this Valentine guy can, why can't I? All right, that's utter crap.
So, there was a frenzy of Valentine gift delivering going around school particularly during our Physics lesson until Miss Chung decided to not teach because she claimed everyone was in a Valentine mood. Strangely, this year SMK. St. Thomas decided to participate in the Interact Club Valentine's Day sale or maybe they did every year just that I did not pay attention to it for the pass few years whether they did or not.

Sports Day 2007
After my long, record-breaking streaks of never showing up for any sports day for three years or participating in anything on that day, I finally had to break that streak and head off to sports day for the first time in my entire secondary school life. No more, turning sports day into my own little personal holiday and sleepin in late at home. Our school Sports Day was today and I had to get up at 4.40am just to get dressed, take my breakfast and head down to Jubilee Ground by 6.00am. Please don't forget the fact that I slep at 12.00am the night before as I suddenly had the urges to be nocturnal. Therefore, I spent twelve long and hot hours walking around the 1000m track field to check on the Red Crescent stations as I was the assistant leader for first aid on that day. There were four stations and there was the sickroom as well. Basically, only the sickroom and station 1 were fully packed with casualties most of the time particularly the first half of the sports day. Whereas the other stations... all I can say is that it gives the picture of a couple of first aiders having a picnic under a large poolside umbrella on the ground. Well, here are a couple of pictures that I took during our sports day.
Our marchers marching...Band, Police Cadet, Red Crescent and the sport houses...Hey look! It's me treating a cramped leg!
It's me again! With a blistered foot this time...Our marchers in their platoon...
Us having our lunch at a food court in Hock Lee Centre... (we walked there from Jubilee Ground!)

Concepts of the toilet
Q: When you use the toilet, do you face the wall or door?
That's one rather fascinating question that Rhe developed into a survey among us in 4 Science 1. Of course, she meant the squatting toilets in our all girls' school. After all, it would be literally impossible to face the wall while using a sitting toilet. It was a rather interesting discovery to discover that the ratio of people who chose wall to door was 1:1. There were also several interesting theories that developed on the door or wall toilet concept that were either logical or illogical... Rash theories indeed...
Wall
1. When you enter the cubicle, you face the wall, so the wall it is.

Wall
1. When you enter the cubicle, you face the wall, so the wall it is.
2. The accumulation of water in the toilet bowl has the nearest displacement to the wall.
3. If guys face the wall, that's majority, therefore, it's the wall.
4. So you can make rough estimations of how far or how close should you position yourself.
Door
1. So when someone accidentally barge in, you will take notice.
2. Not everyone in the world is a guy, therefore why should you act like one.
3. The shape of the toilet bowl determines where your position ought to be.
4. Because it's just like that!
Maybe the toilet manufacturers ought to be contacted to dig up the truth behind the concepts of the toilet. Who knows it might actually be the side and not the door or the wall. This is indeed one rather unusual topic that had lasted for two days. And due to this topic, Cedric thinks that I sound like Kenny. Unbelievable, I believe it's Kenny who sounds like me! *Lets of peals of gleeful, self-amused laughter*

Sony Ericcson k750i
Left, right, front, back Sony Ericsson k750i just looks so good! Woohoo!!! That's going to be my new mobile phone in just a couple more days when I hit the Sony Ericsson retail shop. I've made up my mind to get this excellent Sony Ericsson K750i over the Motorola W375 after seeking advise from the 1-month-left-behind-handphone-know-it-all, Timothy Tay who is currently in National Service and after I did some research. I discovered that the K750i is a worth it deal for only RM700-RM800 compared to the Motorola W375.

Sijil Peperiksaan Menengah
I ought to be sleeping as soundly as that polar bear... *sighs wistfully*. I've just wonderfully volunteered myself for English oral next week. Brilliant, that means I'm going to have to pick a topic, which, I already did. Unusually, I picked to talk about durians in front of the entire class. A fruit that I don't even eat or lay a finger on. Okay, so what am I going to bable about? I already got what I want to talk about joted down in point form. So all I hope for is that words just pour out from my mouth.
This morning, I finally went to buy the General Science textbooks for Form 4 and 5. Decided to take that as an extra subject for my Sijil Peperiksaan Menengah (SPM). Been wondering about taking Prinsip Perakaunan and still wondering! I think most people from my class appart from Linda who's taking Chinese, are taking Bible knowledge for SPM. I have a feeling that if I took Bible knowledge, I could have a high chance of failing as I'm really not a biblical sort of person. The last time I sat for a Bible knowledge test was back in 2005 whereby I got a 72%. All right... it's not a fail, I was just exaggerating but there's just no way anyone or anything can convince me to pick up Bible knowledge for SPM.

Motorola W375
That's what I have my eye on, the black version of the Motorola W357 (2006) since my current Motorola mobile phone has been going haywire lately. The battery gets flat really fast no matter it's a new or old battery and it can just automatically shut down. I was at the mobile phone store when I saw the Motorola W220 which, had a pretty flashy shell but then I discovered the Motorola W357 which, had a camera! And looks exactly like the Motorola W220 and that will be what I shall get once I change my phone as soon as possible. It's pretty slim and narrow unlike the RAZR versions which are slim and broad. Well of course, the RAZR versions come with better functions and I think they come with an 8x zoom whereas the W357 comes with a 4x zoom. But hey, I'm not prepared to spend a large sum of cash just for a mobile phone, I don't print bank notes.
-Compact and thin
-Brilliant TFT internal display with iconic CLI
-Calendar with event reminder (alarm), alarm clock, stop watch, currency converter, calculator and ringtone composer
-MP3 ringtones and FM Radio (play FM radio thru speakerphone w/ headset plugged in)
-Stereo support via 2.5mm headset jack, send/end headset support
-Speakerphone (office quality)
-Messaging: SMS, MMS, EMS, and SMS Chat
-100 entry internal phone book with picture phonebook on phone vCard send/receive via MMS
-VGA Camera with 4x zoom (1x, 2x, 3x) with special effect options GPRS Class 8 (1 up/4 down)
-WAP 2.0
Personally, I favor Motorola mobile phones more than Sony Ericson or Samsung. Mainly because Motorola clamshell mobile phones have more of a professional, simple and plain look that catches my eye. Unlike Sony Ericson phones, particularly the Walkman serries which are kind of flashy with their orange trademark themes. Or unlike the Samsung mobile phones which are rather flashy-looking as well and not exactly user-friendly. There are a couple of pretty nice Motorola mobile phones but I must say, they don't come at cheap prices. The RAZR versions are pretty neat, so are the KM and W versions.
Anyway, before I go on to the next topic for today, did I mentioned that I was elected as treasurer for the Literature and Debating Society of my school? I doubt I had as it only happened this morning. Anyway, if any of you are looking for long, drawling posts on life (might even be inspirational to some), kindly step foot into Jessie's Blog and view the world from her perspective.
